Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Corona Pilots Association website (the “Site”). By visiting or using our Site, you (“user” or “you”) agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our Site.

Introduction

The Site is operated by Corona Pilots Association, Inc. (“CPA,” “we,” or “us”), a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization of aviation enthusiasts based at Corona Municipal Airport (KAJO). Our mission is to share the joy of flight, support local general aviation, and build community among pilots and friends. CPA is an independent organization and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the City of Corona, the Corona Municipal Airport, or any third-party organizations mentioned or linked to on this Site. All information provided on the Site is for general informational purposes to support our members and the aviation community.

By using this Site, you also agree to our Privacy Policy (see above or linked in our Site footer), which describes how we collect and use your information. Please read both these Terms and our Privacy Policy carefully.

Permitted Use of the Site

You are welcome to browse and use our Site for your personal, non-commercial use and to learn about CPA’s activities, events, and services. You do not need to register an account or provide any login credentials to use the public areas of our Site. Our Site does not offer user accounts or public forums, so your use is limited to viewing content and contacting us through provided channels.

By using our Site, you agree to do so only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others or inhibit others’ enjoyment of the Site. Specifically, you agree not to:

Interfere with the Site’s operation or security. Do not attempt to disrupt our Site by introducing viruses, malware, or any other harmful code. Do not try to gain unauthorized access to the Site, our servers, or any associated systems.

Engage in abusive or unlawful behavior. You must not use the Site to harass, threaten, or defame any person or entity. This includes refraining from sending spam, unsolicited mass communications, or any content that is offensive, hateful, or violates any laws.

Misrepresent your identity or affiliation. When contacting us or interacting with our Site, do not impersonate another person or organization, and do not imply that you are officially associated with CPA if you are not.

Use the content for commercial purposes without permission. You may not exploit any content from our Site (such as text, images, or other materials) for commercial gain, resale, or excessive redistribution without our written consent (see “Intellectual Property” below).

Violation of the above conditions may result in termination of your ability to use our Site and appropriate legal action if applicable.

Intellectual Property and Content Usage

All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, photographs, videos, downloadable resources, and layout design, is the property of CPA or its content providers and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. This includes our organization’s name and logo, as well as images of our members and aircraft that are shared with permission.

Permitted Use of Content: You may view, download, or print content from the Site for your personal, informational, non-commercial purposes (for example, printing an event flyer or saving an article for reference). When doing so, please do not remove or obscure any copyright or attribution notices.

Restricted Use of Content: You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any Site content for any commercial or public purpose without our prior written permission. You also may not use our name, logos, or graphics in any unauthorized manner (such as for endorsements or false associations). If you wish to request permission to use any content from our Site beyond what is allowed by these Terms or by law (such as fair use), please contact us at cpa_board@coronapilotsassociation.org.

Any unauthorized use of our content may violate copyright, trademark, and other laws. CPA reserves all rights not expressly granted in these Terms. We are committed to respecting the intellectual property of others as well; if you believe that content on our Site infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please notify us so we can address the issue.

External Links and Third-Party Content

For the convenience and benefit of our community, our Site may contain links to third-party websites or display content from third-party sources (for example, an embedded weather widget, maps, or links to aviation resources and partner organizations). These links and embedded elements are provided for informational purposes. However, CPA does not own or control third-party websites or content.

We make no warranties or representations about the accuracy, relevance, or completeness of information on any external websites linked from our Site. A link or reference on our Site to an external product, service, or organization does not constitute an endorsement or affiliation. When you click an external link or interact with third-party content, you will be subject to that third party’s terms and policies, not ours. We encourage you to review the terms of use and privacy policies of any site you visit via links from our Site.

CPA is not responsible for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of third-party websites or resources. If you choose to access any third-party sites linked from our Site, you do so at your own risk.

No Professional Advice (Informational Use Only)

All information presented on our Site is for general informational, educational, and entertainment purposes for our members and the public. Nothing on this Site constitutes official legal advice, tax advice, flight instruction, or any other professional advice. While we strive to provide accurate and helpful information (for example, about aviation events, regulatory topics, or aircraft ownership resources like property tax exemption guidelines), such content is not a substitute for professional guidance.

If you have legal or tax questions, or need certified flight-planning or safety information, you should consult qualified professionals or official sources. For instance, always refer to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) publications and certified flight instructors for flight planning and safety, and consult legal or tax professionals for those matters. CPA and the authors of any content on our Site are not liable for actions you take based on the information provided. Users must verify critical information with appropriate official or expert sources before relying on it.

Compliance with Laws and Aviation Regulations

By participating in any CPA activity or using information from our Site, you agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. This includes general laws (federal, state, county, and local) and all aviation-specific regulations. Pilots and participants must adhere to the rules and regulations of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and any other relevant aviation authorities, as well as local airport rules and airspace restrictions. Nothing on our Site grants you permission to contravene safety rules or legal requirements. If there is any discrepancy between information on our Site and official regulations or procedures, the official laws and regulations take precedence.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your actions (both online and at CPA events) are lawful and in compliance with relevant rules. This includes, for example, following all FAA safety guidelines during flyouts, obeying Corona Municipal Airport’s operational rules, and respecting any restrictions in the Prado airspace or other areas we may discuss.

Club Membership and Rules

The CPA is a membership-based club with its own bylaws and club rules to ensure safety, respect, and camaraderie. By joining CPA or participating in our events, members and guests agree to abide by all club rules, which may include safety protocols, event procedures, and codes of conduct. CPA reserves the right to establish, modify, and enforce these internal rules at our discretion.

Failure to follow club rules or any behavior that undermines safety or the friendly community environment can result in appropriate action by the CPA leadership. Such actions may include a warning, removal from an event, or in serious cases, suspension or revocation of club membership. We aim to apply rules fairly and in the best interest of all participants. If you have questions about our club rules or wish to review them, please contact us.

Please note that club membership is separate from access to the public website. Membership is not required to display an aircraft at CPA’s Display Day events; non-members may participate in aircraft display activities subject to all safety and conduct rules. While our Site provides information about our events and club, certain activities (like attending specific member-only events or voting in meetings) are limited to official members in good standing.

CPA is committed to maintaining an environment free from harassment, hostility, or discrimination of any kind. All members and guests must conduct themselves respectfully and refrain from any behavior that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment.

Event Participation and Assumption of Risk

CPA frequently hosts or sponsors events such as fly-ins, barbecues, educational seminars, and other aviation-related gatherings. Participation in any CPA event is completely voluntary and at your own risk. By attending or taking part in CPA events (whether as a pilot, aircraft owner, passenger, or spectator), you acknowledge and agree to the following:

Personal Responsibility: You are responsible for your own safety and the security of your property (including aircraft) during CPA events. If you are a pilot or aircraft owner, you must ensure your aircraft is secured and operated safely. If you are a participant or guest, you should remain aware of your surroundings, especially in an airport environment.

No Liability for Property Damage or Theft: CPA is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to aircraft or other personal property that may occur during or in transit to/from our events. For example, if you park your airplane or vehicle at an event, you assume the risk of any potential damage or theft. We recommend carrying appropriate insurance for your aircraft and valuables.

No Liability for Injuries: CPA is not liable for any personal injuries or accidents that may occur at our events, except to the extent required by law. We strive to organize safe events, but aviation activities and related events involve inherent risks. Participants should exercise caution and adhere to all safety instructions.

Compliance and Etiquette: All event attendees must follow any instructions given by event organizers or venue authorities, and must conduct themselves in a manner that is safe and respectful to others. This includes following all FAA regulations, airport rules, and any specific event guidelines provided (for instance, designated parking areas, fuel safety rules, or weather-related precautions).

By attending a CPA event, you agree that you understand these risks and conditions. If you do not agree, please refrain from participating in our events. We want everyone to enjoy our gatherings safely, and we appreciate your cooperation in making that possible.

Media Consent

By attending or participating in any CPA event, you acknowledge that photographs or videos may be taken. When feasible, CPA will announce when photos or videos are being captured. If you prefer not to appear in any media, you may request an opt-out at the event, and CPA will make reasonable efforts to honor your request.

By voluntarily submitting any photos, videos, or media to CPA (including via email, text, or online submission), you grant CPA a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, publish, reproduce, and distribute that media on our website or in CPA-related materials.

Website Availability and Maintenance

We strive to keep our Site available, functional, and up-to-date. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Site may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, technical issues, security measures, or reasons beyond our control. CPA is not liable for any loss, inconvenience, or damages arising from downtime, delays, or inability to access any part of the Site. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any portion of the Site at any time without notice.

Communications

When you contact CPA or provide your email address (for example, through a contact form or event communication), you consent to receiving responses or informational messages from us. While we make reasonable efforts to send timely and accurate communications, we cannot guarantee delivery. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your email settings—including spam filters, blocked senders lists, and security tools—allow emails from CPA to reach you. CPA is not responsible for any missed communications, notices, or information resulting from messages being filtered, rejected, or otherwise not delivered by your email provider.

For the privacy of our members, CPA sends group emails using blind carbon copy (BCC) to prevent disclosure of member email addresses. Use of CPA’s email distribution lists for personal, commercial, or non-CPA-related purposes is strictly prohibited.

We recommend adding cpa_board@coronapilotsassociation.org to your approved senders list to help ensure proper email delivery.

Disclaimers (No Warranties)

This website is independently operated by the CPA and is not an official website of the Corona Municipal Airport (KAJO), the City of Corona, or any governmental authority associated with the airport. Any businesses, organizations, products, or services referenced or linked on this website are mentioned for informational purposes only; the CPA is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any third-party entities.

The Site and all content available on it are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. While we do our best to keep information updated and accurate, CPA makes no guarantees that the content on our Site is always correct, complete, or up-to-date. Aviation information can change (such as regulations, procedures, or event details), and there may occasionally be mistakes or omissions.

We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be available at all times or free from errors, nor that the Site will be free of viruses or other harmful components. Although we take security measures (as described in our Privacy Policy), we cannot guarantee the Site will be completely secure or immune from vulnerabilities.

Any reliance you place on the information from our Site is strictly at your own risk. CPA is not responsible or liable if you rely on any content on this Site for making decisions (for example, planning a flight route or handling legal matters) without confirming with official sources or professionals.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CPA and its officers, directors, members, volunteers, and agents will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of (or inability to use) our Site or participation in our events. This includes, but is not limited to, any liability for:

Errors or Omissions: Mistakes or inaccuracies in content.

Personal Injury or Property Damage: Any injury or damage to you, your aircraft, or your property resulting from access to our Site or attendance at our events. (For example, we are not liable for an aircraft mishap or vehicle damage in the parking area, as noted above in “Event Participation.”)

Lost Data or Profits: Loss of data, loss of business or profits, or any other intangible losses resulting from use of our Site or information on it.

Third-Party Conduct: Acts or omissions of other event participants or third parties, including users of the Site, that may cause you harm (for instance, another person’s negligent behavior at an event or unauthorized conduct on the Site).

This limitation applies even if CPA has been advised of the possibility of such damages. In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, CPA’s liability will be limited to the minimum extent allowed by law.

Indemnification

By using our Site, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless CPA and its officers, directors, members, volunteers, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party. This means that if you violate the Terms or engage in unlawful behavior and it causes harm to CPA or anyone else, you may be responsible for the costs associated with that harm.

Changes to These Terms

CPA may update or revise these Terms of Use from time to time. When changes are made, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. It is your responsibility to review the Terms periodically for any updates. Continued use of our Site following the posting of revised Terms signifies your acceptance of the changes. If we make a significant change to the Terms, we may also provide a notice on our Site or via other communication channels, but you should not rely solely on being individually notified.

Termination

While our Site does not require user registration, CPA reserves the right to restrict or terminate your access to the Site (or certain features of it) at our discretion, without notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms or are otherwise engaging in unlawful, abusive, or disruptive behavior. Because the Site does not use user accounts, ‘restricting access’ may include technical measures such as blocking specific IP addresses, user agents, or contact channels if necessary to address abuse, security concerns, or unlawful behavior. We also reserve the right to suspend or end the operation of the Site (in whole or in part) at any time if necessary, without notice. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property rights, disclaimers, and liability limitations) will remain in effect even if the Site is discontinued or your access to it is terminated.

Historical photos previously displayed on older versions of the Site may include images provided by members or collected from past events. CPA reviews archived media periodically and removes materials upon request where reasonable.

Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. By using the Site, you consent to the jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California for any dispute arising under these Terms. We operate the Site from California, and we make no representation that the content is appropriate or available in other locations. If you access the Site from other jurisdictions, you are responsible for compliance with local laws.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be deemed severable from these Terms and will not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions. The remaining sections of the Terms will remain in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms of Use (together with our Privacy Policy) constitute the entire agreement between you and CPA regarding your use of the Site, and they supersede any prior or contemporaneous understandings and agreements, whether written or oral, relating to the Site. No waiver of any term of these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of that term or any other term.
